Background and Description:

The Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC) is the largest and the most influential Armenian-Canadian grassroots human rights organization. Working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout Canada and affiliated organizations around the world, a small team of dedicated individuals from coast-to-coast work tirelessly to actively advance the concerns of the Armenian-Canadian community on a broad range of issues and work to eliminate abuses of human rights throughout Canada and the world.

We are looking for a Social Marketing Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will be accountable for bringing the ANCC brand and its priorities to life in social media content across our social platforms. You will act as the brand voice on all social channels and work collaboratively with our translators, regional chapters, and the executive committee to develop and execute the social content calendar and ad-hoc initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Create and manage a social media strategy and content calendar focused on ANCC priorities
  • Support strategic development and execution of social media plans through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification
  • Gather market intelligence on industry trends and incorporate this into effective strategies
  • Create and execute always-on content (texts, photos, videos, etc.) to increase visibility
  • Generate interactive content that encourage grassroots members to take action
  • Establish ANCC as a thought-leader through thought-provoking and educational social content
  • Define key performance indicators, analyze data and metrics, and enhance current awareness campaigns
  • Provide a monthly KPI report to determine effectiveness of ongoing content and campaigns

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in or graduate of a Journalism, Communications, PR, Marketing, Political Science, or a related field
  • Bilingual in English and Armenian – bonus points for fluency in French
  • Proficiency with social media trends and associated best practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly meticulous, even when faced with tight deadlines
  • Understanding of social analytics and data to drive better decision making
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or Premiere Pro is considered an asset
